My husband and I make a yearly trip to Las Vegas, I passionately refer to it as our annual trip to our future home. We have visited Vegas enough to be able to offer some frugal tips and our experiences to Las Vegas visitors. We try to get the best bang for our buck in the rooms that we stay, The meals we eat and the shows we see. This is a work in progress so come back in the near future. In my best Elvis voice - Thank you, thank you very much!
Hope you enjoyed your stay, my boyfriend and I are traveling to Vegas for the First time next week and I am counting down the days. lol Any recommendations from your last visit? I know it was just recently so you might not have a chance to respond. :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow first time trip, I remember ours well. If you go into a casino sign up for their players club card. Often they will give you a little free play or discount dining coupons. If you had more time before your trip I would recommend buying a coupon book. I would recommend that you rent a car and spend a day and evening downtown aka Old Vegas. They have a great FREE overhead show that plays hourly > http://www.vegasexperience.com/ there is a free concert on July 4th too. Free and must things to see, The fountains and the conservatory at Bellagio, the pirate show at TI and the volcano at The Mirage. I would also recommend seeing a Cirque du Soleil show. I have seen all of them in Vegas except the new M. Jackson and O. Mystere and Love are my favorite two. There is a sale going on now a lot of tickets are about 1/2 price. Do a search if interested. It is going to be very hot there next week. Buy or take saline nasal spray and always carry chap stick. Drink lots of water more than you do at home you will need it (we usually buy a case of water when we arrive in Vegas). Take a back pack instead of a purse your boyfriend can help carry it when you get tired. He should carry his wallet in his front pocket. Travel down the strip at night at least once to see all of the lights. Wear comfortable shoes, your feet will burn if you are a flip flop wearer. Use Groupon or Restaurant.com to get some food discounts. Food on the strip can be very expensive. Have fun and start planning your return trip as soon as you get home.
